Russian gas deliveries to China on the Eastern route have exceeded 20 billion m³ since 2023
Since the launch of deliveries in December 2019, the volume of transported gas has exceeded 50 billion m³.
PipeChina has reported that since the beginning of 2023, more than 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been delivered to China on the Eastern route, which includes the main pipeline “Siberian Force-1”.
In 2023, Gazprom repeatedly broke daily supply records, especially during the cold weather in China. PipeChina and Gazprom are also continuing to expand the capacity of the East China-Russia gas pipeline, including construction of additional sections and compressor stations.
The supply volumes are expected to continue to increase in 2024, which will significantly improve the ability of natural gas supplies to China, improving the situation in the Northeast, Northern and Eastern regions of China.
The contract for the supply of gas along the Eastern route, signed in 2014, provides for annual deliveries of up to 38 billion m3 of gas over 30 years. It is planned that the project capacity of the gas pipeline will be reached by 2025, with the possibility of further increase in the volume of the feed.
