Russia and BRICS countries are creating a single platform for assessing mineral reserves

The project aims to harmonize stock classifications and create an international body of experts.

The project involves the unification of methodologies for assessing reserves, which will allow the formation of a unified community of experts involved in international resource assessment. Currently, the greatest progress has been made in cooperation between Russia and China. Already in 2024, it is planned to present the first example of comparing Russian and Chinese classifications based on the UN Framework Classification of Resources.

In addition to China, active negotiations are underway with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. Agreements on mutual recognition of classifications and experts have already been concluded with all these countries. Work on the creation of a unified platform and an international expert community will continue, which opens up new prospects for cooperation in the field of subsoil use.
