Mobile drilling rig on rails
A new drilling rig on rails has been created at the Higher School of Petroleum.
The system developed in the Design Bureau of the Advanced Engineering School (PINSH) will improve the efficiency of drilling well clusters.
The system includes a platform with rail guides for transverse movement of the drilling rig. At the moment, 8 such systems have been manufactured. The installation is moved by hydraulic cylinders, and friction on the rails is reduced by special lubrication.
Unlike the traditional method, which requires disassembly and the use of several pieces of equipment, the new drilling rig can move up to 20 meters across a bush site in a matter of hours. This reduces the operating time from seven days to noon, increasing the overall drilling efficiency.
