Russian scientists have created universal nanocomposites with oxygen mobility. They will be useful in hydrogen energy
The materials are made of artificial minerals with the structure of fluorite, feather and spinel.
Scientists from the Institute of Catalysis SB RAS have developed catalysts based on artificial minerals for use in the context of hydrogen energy. This was announced on January 12, 2023 by the IC SB RAS.
Catalysis in the general is the acceleration of chemical reactions under the action of small amounts of substances — catalysts, which themselves do not change during the reaction. The use of catalysts is carried out during oil refining, the production of various products, the creation of new materials.
Siberian scientists have found the use of catalysts to create important applications of hydrogen energy, such as solid oxide fuel cells, proton exchange membranes and catalytic reactors.
The work was started under the supervision of the Chief researcher of the Department of Heterogeneous Catalysis of the IC SB RAS, Doctor of Chemical Sciences V. Sadykov.
