Russia and Kazakhstan step up oil production

Russia and Kazakhstan are intensifying the dialogue on oil production and the development of the pipeline system.

“The parties intend to intensify dialogue on issues related to geological exploration, extraction of hard-to-recover oil, diversification of energy transportation routes, as well as exchange of experience and training of personnel. Implement plans for the construction of new pipelines and reconstruction of existing ones for the efficient transportation of natural gas, oil and petroleum products to consumers of the two countries and to third countries,” the joint statement of the Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, adopted at the talks in Astana, reads.

Russia and Kazakhstan intend to work together in the field of peaceful nuclear energy and in the field of energy security. Both countries will expand the potential of cooperation in the field of electric power, including through the use of innovative technologies.
